Linx

Reflux (or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) is caused by a weak Lower Esphogeal Sphincter in your esophagus that allows acid and bile to flow back from the stomach into the esophagus, causing damage to the lining of the esophagus, throat and lungs. LINX is a small, flexible ring of magnets that helps stop Reflux at its source. When swallowing, the ring of magnets opens to allow food and liquid down and then closes to prevent stomach contents from moving up.

LINX is designed to be a lifelong implant that is a short, minimally invasive outpatient procedure that requires no alteration to the stomach and allows the patient to resume normal activity within a couple of days. To help the body adapt to LINX, patients are encouraged to return to a normal diet as soon as possible.
